    I just receive my Walbro fuel pump and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to install this. I have a four-door GS-R (1994).
    I heard removing the seat is the hardest part...

    any help?

    removing the seat is the easiest part.
    be real careful when removing the screws on the cover for the pump.it you make a spark(BAMM)you got fire.i just changed out my pump today, it took me about 1 1/2 hours.
    use rubber gloves to keep gas off your hands.
    you need pliers,needle nose pliers,10mm socket,i think 17 mm socket for banjo bolt,and rags to catch the gas that leaks out of the old pump.be careful with the little compression metal clip that holds the bag filter on,its about 1/4 of an inch.dont damage it when you remove it.you must reinstall it on the new pump afterwards.if you ain't handy wit tools, don't do it.you could cause a fire. hope i've been some sort of help.

    The pump is the lowest point in the line, so there will be gas spillage. Disconnect the line to the pump outside of the garage, and place a heavyweight shop towel over the pump and line when you break the bolt loose. This way any spilled gas will drain on top of the gas tank and onto the ground, or into the rag around the line/pump. I thought I had releived the pressure on my line, but I still had some spray in the back seat.

    Also make sure you get the continuity correct.

    On some models the "+" and "-' are reversed so you would have to change the wires coming into the connector.

    Just look at the OE pump and compare it to the new one. They will have marks to tell you which side is which.

    On my 96 GSR 4-DR the connections were correct stock.

    Open the filler door to vent pressure and try to do it without a full tank.

    Also, you can leave that pain in the ass bolt off that secures the seat to the body so you can actually clean under it smile .
